church + rides = everybody wins

On Monday we went to a place called Tibidabo. It's the one of the highest points in Barcelona.

It has a great view of the city

There's a church up there called the Church of the Sacred Heart. It's really quite pretty. It has a big bronze statue of Christ at the top. Brad heard that Franco had it constructed so as to wash away the sins of Barcelona (apparently for not being loyal to him).

The best part though is that it has an amusement park right in front of it. And why shouldn't it? I think it's a great way to get people to visit church...or get them to leave church to ride the rides...hmmm, I don't know. Either way, it attracts the people and that's what we want, right?
Alexa was making horse noises the whole time we were there, so she got to ride on the "caballo" with her daddy.

We're going to miss all these fun things when we leave next week. :(

I am glad you posted the picture with the big blocks. It helped me sound out the city.
Perhaps the Bishop should take some tithing money and inevst in some bounce houses...just for Sundays.
"LDS Church News: Membership in the Nurseries has grown exponentially since the arrival of portable bounce houses. The church is considering making it a churchwide policy. The only set back is finding enough Nursery workers to handle the increasing numbers. But then again, this has always been a problem for the LDS church. (cont. story....)
